"El Museu de la Mar" is dedicated to the people of Peniscola.Its priority is to protect, preserve and spread the cultural heritage, safeguarding the most characteristic of our popular maritime culture.
The permanent exhibition of the Museum of the sea is dynamic.
It shows 274 pieces and over 70 photographs as witnesses of the fishing activity in Castellon.
The Museum of the sea which shows diverse old objects such as: amphoras which were found along the Mediterranean coast and other fishing instruments used in ancient times, as well as fossils of marine animals, lakes, models of current fishing boats and of other old times and even a small Aquarium where you can see some varieties of native fish of the coast of Peñíscola
It is an important tourist place to visit.
